Sometimes, you just need a respite from all the busyness of life. Working professionals, a family of five, traveling often for work, we got the idea! This family didn’t have to tell us twice why they were craving a cozy basement lounge to escape to. They wanted a space where they could get away from the pressures and noise of the outside world and just hang out and relax.
Brassy Tones set the Stage
The subtle details make the difference! We brought the brass from the light fixture and cabinet hardware into the rest of the design with floor lamps, the coffee table’s base, and accessories throughout the space. The intentional repetition of the finishes keeps the eye moving and flowing through the space, for great design you can feel!
Stools that Provide Comfort and Durability
For the under counter stools, we chose performance fabric for durability and ease of cleaning. Caramel-colored leather was chosen for the stools and provided warmth and richness while complementing the existing blue cabinetry for a pop of color.
Unexpected Decor
To give the space an element of surprise and create an illusion of making it feel larger, we used collage mirrors, which love their new home near the complementary abstract artwork.
Soft Touches for a Feeling of Home
Finishing off the space, we carefully curated all the bells and whistles of serving items to make the bar area shine and help this family get their mixology creations flowing!
Everything in this space was intentionally and carefully selected to provide the balance this family craves and hues that make them feel harmonious at home! This cohesive space is a great example of how exceptional design is something you can just feel!
We stepped up to the task and designed a space that provided cushy and comfortable seating options, gathering spaces, all the bells and whistles for serving beverages and refreshments, and entertainment features that allowed them to disconnect from it all.
Our clients were organized, goal-oriented, knew what they liked, and what they loved. When we dove in and discussed the details with them, we took into account their unique aesthetic preferences, personality, and lifestyle needs.
Vermilion Interiors worked closely with these ambitious parents to uncover their unique visions of how the space would feel and be used. We asked questions about what weeknights with family looked like, how they entertained friends, and what an average date night in might consist of.
With a smaller space to work with, finding furnishings that were the perfect scale was essential. We found seating options that looked great and felt comfortable so they could lounge to their heart’s desire!
This family loves their new basement lounge space! They’ve enjoyed laughter-filled evenings, hosted gatherings, soaked up relaxation and calm while hanging out with their kids and just the two of them snuggled up and enjoying a movie. A cozy escape amidst a busy world, this basement lounge checks all the boxes and then some.
Let us help you to relax more intentionally at home!
